YAEL MANSOOR, PhD

ABOUT YAEL

Dr. Yael Mansoor is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience in psychotherapy, neuropsychology, psychological assessment, teaching, and interdisciplinary consultation.  After receiving her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital.  Her clinical experience spans hospital, government and intelligence agencies, multidisciplinary group practice, and private practice settings.

Dr. Mansoor takes a warm, curious, collaborative, and active approach to therapy.  She works integratively, with a strong emphasis on parts-work/Internal Family Systems (IFS), depth psychology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while drawing from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and other evidence-based approaches according to each client’s needs.  Her background in neuropsychology informs her attention to the interplay of emotional, developmental, cognitive, relational, and medical factors, and she has particular expertise helping clients make sense of altered or nonordinary experiences, including psychedelic, dissociative, meditative, and neurologically related states.  Through a warm, engaged therapeutic relationship and a depth-oriented understanding of each client, she helps people approach longstanding patterns with greater clarity, compassion, and flexibility.
