SERVICES

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a specific, confidential, and collaborative process designed to help you understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors more deeply. It is a dedicated, one-on-one partnership between you and a trained clinician, focused entirely on your personal growth and mental well-being. Therapy sessions can be flexible or structured, and, depending on your needs, can range from short-term intervention to long-term, ongoing support.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a collaborative process designed to help you and your partner understand your unique dynamics, resolve conflict, and deepen your emotional connection. In this work, the relationship itself serves as the primary client. Together, we explore the communication cycles that lead to frustration, helping you express your needs without blame and listen without defensiveness. The goal is to shift your partnership from constant conflict to constructive, meaningful dialogue.

Therapy Intensive

A therapy intensive is a specialized, condensed format of treatment designed to create significant breakthroughs in a short period. Unlike traditional therapy, which typically involves 45-minute weekly sessions, an intensive typically consists of extended hours of therapy per day over multiple days per week. This format is ideal for individuals or couples in crisis or struggling with daily functioning who need more immediate relief than the standard therapy model provides.

AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION

ADDICTION

Addiction is a chronic condition that manifests in two main forms: substance use disorders and behavioral addictions.  Often, addiction feels impossible to stop, gives us a sense that we lack control in our life, and leads to problems with our physical health, mental health, relationships, and career.  Importantly, struggling with an addiction is not a character flaw or weakness; it is a complex disease that is treatable.  We are here to help you learn how to heal from your addiction and reclaim your power and agency in life.

TRAUMA

A traumatic experience often involves a threat to safety.  Any situation that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and isolated can result in trauma.  Living through a traumatic event can lead to long-term emotional responses that harm one’s sense of safety, sense of self, and ability to regulate emotions.  These emotional responses can bring about feelings of shame, intense fear, helplessness, and powerlessness.  Whatever the cause of your trauma, and whether it happened recently or years ago, we can help you make healing changes and move forward with your life.

PERSONALITY DISORDERS

Personality is a collection of interrelating thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that make us uniquely who we are.  Personality disorders cause impaired functioning and distress while impacting ways of thinking, relating to others, emotional reactions, and controlling one’s behavior.  Although personality typically does not change, many people experience long-term remission from symptoms with the right treatment.  We provide specialized treatment to uncover how symptoms manifest and support new ways to regulate mood and emotions.

LIFE TRANSITIONS

We all encounter transitions throughout our lives; these can include shifts in career, relationships, health, relocations, personal milestones, loss, and aging.  The effects of life transitions are multi-faceted, and often challenge one’s sense of self, routine, and coping mechanisms.  Life transitions can evoke feelings of stress, excitement, grief, and uncertainty, and can impact mental health.  We can help you to build resilience, work through emotions, and foster a helpful mindset to thrive in the face of change and enhance your wellbeing.

ANXIETY & OCD

Anxiety is the body’s adaptive reaction to stressful events.  However, anxiety symptoms can also become overwhelming, unmanageable, and feel like a constant part of life.  There are different ways that anxiety can become maladaptive; we specialize in treating generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, and specific phobias.  If you feel that anxiety has been getting in the way of your life, we can help bring your system back into balance and no longer feel that anxiety is holding you back.

MOOD DISORDERS

While it is typical for our moods to change, a mood disorder impacts a person’s emotional state for weeks or months at a time.  The most common mood disorders are depression and bipolar disorder, and apart from impacting our mood, these can also influence sleep, energy levels, eating behaviors, and thinking processes.  More severe forms of mood disorders can feel overwhelming and make it hard to live day-to-day.  We can help guide you through recovery and teach you tools to manage your mood and create a life worth living.

ATTENTION-DEFICIT/HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD)

ADHD is a neurobiological disorder that affects individuals across the lifespan and impacts memory, attention, and executive function.  Executive function is the brain’s ability to manage and prioritize thoughts and actions, and allows us to consider long-term consequences and manage multiple tasks.  ADHD can be associated with anxiety, mood disorders, and addiction, and can create chronic feelings of guilt, frustration, and blame.  We can help you to manage living with ADHD through building acceptance, learning skills, and creating structure that works for your life.

RELATIONSHIP CHALLENGES

Everyone who is in a relationship will experience problems and difficulties from time to time.  When a relationship begins to feel burdensome, it can breed negative thoughts and feelings and impact mental health.  Either in individual therapy or couples therapy, your relationship difficulties are explored and supported through observing past experiences that impact the current relationship, identifying unhelpful patterns within the dynamic, improving communication, setting boundaries, and working to build trust through openness and honesty.  We can facilitate the development of dynamic solutions and guide you toward healthier coping and communication strategies.
