COMMON QUESTIONS

Online Therapy Across States: What to Know

Can I see a therapist at Eckhouse Therapy if I don't live in Virginia?

Yes. Our clinicians can provide online therapy in multiple states, depending on their individual licenses and authorizations. Dr. Eckhouse is licensed in DC, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, and Missouri. Dr. Mansoor also holds PSYPACT telepsychology authorization for eligible participating jurisdictions.

Do I need to live in one of the cities listed on this page?

No. The cities listed are examples of communities we serve. Online therapy is available throughout eligible states and jurisdictions, provided your clinician is authorized to treat you where you are physically located.

What is PSYPACT, and how does it affect online therapy?

PSYPACT is an interstate compact that allows appropriately authorized psychologists to provide telepsychology across participating jurisdictions. Dr. Mansoor holds this authorization, expanding access to specialized psychological care beyond DC. Services remain subject to applicable PSYPACT requirements.

Can I continue therapy if I travel or move to another state?

Possibly. Your ability to attend sessions depends on your physical location at the time of each appointment and whether your clinician is authorized to practice there. We can discuss your situation in advance to determine what is possible.

What if I am unsure which therapist is right for me?

You do not need to figure that out on your own. A complimentary consultation gives us an opportunity to learn what you're looking for, answer questions, and consider which clinician may be the best fit.

Does Eckhouse Therapy accept insurance?

Eckhouse Therapy is an out-of-network practice. Clients pay directly for sessions, and we provide monthly superbills that may be submitted for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan and eligibility. We do not participate in Medicare.

How do I get started?

Simply submit our contact form, send us an email, or call to request a complimentary consultation. We'll learn more about your needs, confirm clinician availability in your state, and discuss possible next steps.
