Website Terms of Use
Eckhouse Therapy, LLC
Effective Date: October 16, 2026
Welcome to the website of Eckhouse Therapy, LLC (“Eckhouse Therapy,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a psychotherapy practice located in Virginia and providing online mental health services in jurisdictions where its clinicians are authorized to practice.
These Website Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of https://eckhousetherapy.com, including its pages, content, features, and associated website communications (collectively, the “Website”).
By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms, to the extent an enforceable agreement is formed under applicable law. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of our Website.
These Terms apply to use of the Website and do not replace, modify, or supersede any clinical informed consent, treatment agreement, signed Practice Policies, Notice of Privacy Practices, or other documentation governing an established therapeutic relationship.
1. Informational and Educational Purposes Only
The Website is intended to provide general educational information about mental health, psychotherapy, and the services offered by Eckhouse Therapy.
Website content is provided for general informational purposes only and is not intended to constitute individualized psychological or psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, or clinical recommendations.
Information presented on the Website should not be relied upon as a substitute for individualized assessment, treatment, or advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Eckhouse Therapy makes no representation that any information, therapeutic approach, or service described on the Website is appropriate for any particular individual or clinical circumstance.
Reliance on general Website content is at the visitor's own discretion and risk, subject to applicable law.
2. No Therapist-Client Relationship Established Through Website Use
Accessing or using this Website, reviewing information about our clinicians or services, submitting a contact inquiry, sending an email, calling our office, or requesting a consultation does not, by itself, establish a therapist-client relationship with Eckhouse Therapy or any of its clinicians.
A therapeutic relationship is established only through the practice's applicable intake and acceptance procedures, including completion of required clinical documentation, execution of applicable informed consent and Practice Policies, and confirmation of acceptance for treatment by an authorized clinician.
Submitting an inquiry or requesting an appointment does not guarantee acceptance as a client, appointment availability, or the provision of services.
Eckhouse Therapy reserves the right to determine whether to accept prospective clients based on clinical needs, clinician competence and availability, appropriateness of treatment, applicable licensing and professional requirements, and other lawful considerations.
Nothing in these Terms limits the rights of established clients or modifies any professional obligations arising from an existing therapeutic relationship.
3. Mental Health Emergencies and Website Communication Limitations
This Website is not intended or monitored for mental health emergencies, crisis intervention, or other urgent communications.
Website contact forms, general office email, voicemail, and other administrative communication methods should not be relied upon for immediate assistance.
If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, believe you or another person is in immediate danger, or require urgent intervention, call 911 or contact your local emergency services.
In the United States, you may also call 988 or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Important Notice for Current and Former Clients: The Website contact inquiry form is designed exclusively for new inquiries. Current or former clients, and other individuals with an existing record at Eckhouse Therapy, should not use it. An attempted submission may display a confirmation even when the submission cannot be processed or delivered to our office. A confirmation should therefore not be interpreted as a guarantee that Eckhouse Therapy received the inquiry. Current and former clients should instead contact their clinician directly, email office@eckhousetherapy.com, use the designated client portal, or follow the communication procedures provided in their Practice Policies and other clinical documentation, as applicable.
Eckhouse Therapy does not guarantee that Website inquiries or other general electronic communications will be received, reviewed, or answered. These communication methods should not be used for emergencies or circumstances requiring a response within a particular timeframe.
Established clients remain subject to the emergency and communication procedures provided by their treating clinician and in their clinical documentation.
4. Description and Individualization of Clinical Services
Eckhouse Therapy provides individualized psychotherapy for a range of mental health concerns, including addiction and recovery, trauma and PTSD, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression and mood disorders, ADHD and neurodivergent experiences, personality disorders, and complex or co-occurring mental health conditions.
The Website may describe particular therapeutic approaches, clinical methods, interventions, techniques, and areas of professional expertise.
These descriptions are intended to provide general information about our services and do not constitute representations that any particular method, intervention, or technique will be used with every client or implemented exactly as described.
Psychotherapy is individualized to each client's clinical presentation, circumstances, treatment goals, needs, and therapeutic progress. Our clinicians may adapt, combine, modify, emphasize, or omit particular components of a therapeutic approach in the exercise of appropriate professional judgment.
Accordingly, the manner in which an approach is described on the Website may differ from its specific application in an individual client's treatment, even when that approach forms part of the client's therapy.
References to particular methods or approaches do not establish an obligation to provide any particular intervention or follow a predetermined treatment protocol.
All services are provided subject to applicable standards of professional care, informed consent requirements, clinician competence, and licensing or authorization restrictions.
5. Telehealth Services and Geographic Availability
Eckhouse Therapy, LLC is located in Virginia and provides psychotherapy services exclusively through telehealth.
Our clinicians may provide services to individuals located in Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland, and other jurisdictions where the individual clinician is appropriately licensed or otherwise authorized to practice, including participating PSYPACT jurisdictions where applicable.
Professional licenses, authorizations, service areas, and eligibility requirements vary by clinician and may change without corresponding immediate updates to the Website.
Information regarding geographic service availability is provided for general reference and does not guarantee that any particular clinician may lawfully provide services in any identified location.
Eligibility for services is determined by applicable law, professional authorization, clinical appropriateness, and the client's physical location at the time services are provided.
Visitors should confirm service availability directly with the practice before assuming that treatment may be provided in their jurisdiction.
6. No Guarantee of Treatment Outcomes
Psychotherapy is an individualized process, and outcomes may vary significantly depending on individual circumstances, clinical presentation, engagement in treatment, and other factors.
Eckhouse Therapy does not promise or guarantee any particular diagnosis, symptom reduction, clinical improvement, recovery timeline, treatment response, or therapeutic outcome.
Any descriptions of potential therapeutic benefits, evidence-based approaches, treatment goals, or anticipated improvements are general in nature and do not constitute guarantees of results.
Nothing in this section limits our clinicians' obligation to exercise reasonable professional care and comply with applicable ethical, licensing, and legal requirements.
7. Website Inquiries, SimplePractice Contact Form, and Electronic Communications
Visitors may contact Eckhouse Therapy through the Website, email, telephone, or other designated administrative communication channels.
These methods are intended for general inquiries and administrative purposes and are not substitutes for clinical care, emergency assistance, or established client communication procedures.
Third-Party Contact Form Provider
The contact inquiry form displayed on our Website is hosted and operated by SimplePractice, LLC (“SimplePractice”), a third-party practice management and electronic health record platform, and is embedded within the Website.
Although the form appears on Eckhouse Therapy's Website, information submitted through it is transmitted to and processed through SimplePractice's systems rather than being collected directly through the Website's hosting infrastructure.
Electronic communications and Website features may be subject to transmission errors, technical failures, unauthorized access, security vulnerabilities, interruptions, or other risks. Eckhouse Therapy does not guarantee their uninterrupted availability, complete security, or successful transmission, delivery, or receipt.
Eckhouse Therapy's use of SimplePractice does not diminish any privacy, confidentiality, security, or other obligations imposed on the practice by applicable law. Information submitted through the form remains subject to applicable legal protections and our relevant privacy notices.
Electronic Communications and Submission Limitations
Visitors should avoid including detailed medical histories, sensitive health information, or other confidential material in general Website inquiries or ordinary email communications.
Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee that it has been received, reviewed, or answered.
Eckhouse Therapy makes no commitment to respond to every inquiry and does not guarantee any particular response time. The practice may decline to respond to communications, including unsolicited commercial messages, spam, abusive communications, or inquiries unrelated to its services, subject to applicable law and existing professional obligations.
No therapeutic relationship, obligation to provide treatment, or duty to respond to a prospective inquiry is established solely through attempted or completed electronic communication.
Established clients should follow the communication procedures outlined in their signed Practice Policies and other applicable clinical agreements.
Nothing in this section diminishes confidentiality, privacy, or professional obligations applicable to information received by the practice or to existing therapeutic relationships.
8. Privacy and Confidentiality
The collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of information obtained through the Website are governed by applicable law and, where relevant, Eckhouse Therapy's Website Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices.
Certain Website features, including our embedded contact inquiry form, are provided through SimplePractice, LLC. Information submitted through these features may be collected, transmitted, processed, and stored through SimplePractice's systems on behalf of Eckhouse Therapy.
Nothing in these Terms creates additional contractual warranties or guarantees concerning the security, availability, retention, deletion, restoration, or recoverability of Website information or the operation of third-party systems. This provision does not negate factual disclosures in our privacy notices, excuse independently actionable misrepresentations, or diminish obligations imposed on Eckhouse Therapy by applicable law.
Additional information concerning Website data practices and third-party technology providers is provided in our Website Privacy Policy.
Nothing in these Terms constitutes authorization for the use or disclosure of protected health information beyond what is permitted by applicable law or validly authorized by the individual.
Visitors are encouraged to review our Website Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices for additional information.
9. Intellectual Property and Restrictions on Use
Unless otherwise indicated, all original content appearing on the Website, including written materials, text, graphics, logos, branding, design elements, photographs, downloadable materials, and other proprietary content, is owned by Eckhouse Therapy, LLC or used pursuant to applicable licenses or permissions.
Such materials are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Visitors are granted a limited, nonexclusive, revocable permission to access and view Website content for lawful personal, noncommercial, informational purposes.
Except as expressly permitted by applicable law, visitors may not reproduce, copy, modify, adapt, republish, distribute, sell, license, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from protected Website content without the prior express written permission of Eckhouse Therapy, LLC or the applicable rights holder.
No ownership rights, licenses, or other interests in our intellectual property are transferred by accessing or using the Website, except for the limited permission expressly stated herein.
Eckhouse Therapy reserves all rights not expressly granted.
This section does not restrict lawful fair use or other rights and exceptions recognized under applicable intellectual property law.
10. Third-Party Links, Resources, and External Content
The Website may contain links, references, buttons, citations, or other connections to third-party websites, organizations, publications, research materials, educational resources, platforms, or services.
Such materials may be provided for informational, educational, or convenience purposes.
The inclusion of any third-party link or reference does not, by itself, constitute an endorsement, approval, recommendation, sponsorship, affiliation, verification, or guarantee by Eckhouse Therapy of any third party, its content, products, services, positions, representations, or practices.
Describing an external resource as helpful, informative, or recommended does not, by itself, guarantee its accuracy, suitability for a particular individual, or the third party's services or practices.
Eckhouse Therapy does not control third-party websites or services and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, disclaims responsibility for their content, accuracy, availability, operation, privacy practices, security, representations, or actions.
Accessing third-party resources is at the visitor's discretion and subject to the applicable third party's terms and policies.
Nothing in this section disclaims liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or responsibility for Eckhouse Therapy's own independently actionable conduct.
11. Acceptable Use and Website Security
Visitors agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms.
Prohibited conduct includes unauthorized attempts to access systems or information, interfere with Website operations, introduce malicious software, exploit security vulnerabilities, submit fraudulent or abusive communications, or engage in other activities that compromise the security, integrity, or availability of the Website.
Eckhouse Therapy reserves the right to investigate suspected misuse and take lawful protective action, including restricting access, blocking abusive activity, or referring suspected unlawful conduct to appropriate authorities.
These rights concern access to the Website and do not independently authorize termination of an established therapeutic relationship or alter professional duties relating to continuity of care.
12. Accuracy, Completeness, and Website Availability
Website content is provided for general informational purposes and may contain errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or outdated information. Eckhouse Therapy makes no representation or warranty regarding the completeness, accuracy, currency, or continued availability of Website content, except as otherwise required by applicable law.
Information concerning services, professional credentials, availability, fees, geographic eligibility, clinical approaches, and other matters may change.
Eckhouse Therapy reserves the right to modify, correct, remove, suspend, or discontinue Website content or features at any time, with or without prior notice, subject to applicable law.
We do not guarantee that the Website will remain continuously available, operate without interruption, or be free from technical errors or vulnerabilities.
Visitors should independently confirm information relevant to their decisions about obtaining services.
13. Disclaimer of Website Warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE WEBSITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.
Eckhouse Therapy does not warrant that the Website will meet any visitor's particular requirements, that access will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the Website will be free of harmful components.
These disclaimers concern Website access, functionality, and general information and do not exclude or alter professional obligations, applicable standards of clinical care, legally protected patient rights, or warranties that cannot lawfully be disclaimed.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ECKHOUSE THERAPY, LLC, AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATED CLINICIANS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, LOSSES, CLAIMS, COSTS, OR EXPENSES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ACCESS TO, USE OF, INABILITY TO USE, OR RELIANCE UPON THE WEBSITE OR ITS GENERAL INFORMATIONAL CONTENT, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT SUCH LIABILITY CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED.
This limitation includes, without limitation, damages or losses arising from or relating to:
- Errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or outdated general Website information;
- Reliance on educational or informational Website content;
- Website interruptions, outages, malfunctions, or technical failures;
- Delays, failures, or errors in the transmission or delivery of electronic communications;
- Unauthorized access, misuse, or interference by third parties;
- Loss, corruption, or unavailability of Website data;
- Third-party websites, links, content, platforms, products, or services, including technology supporting embedded Website features;
- Viruses, malicious code, or other harmful technological components; and
- Other matters arising from or relating to general Website access, functionality, or use.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Eckhouse Therapy also disclaims liability for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to Website use, regardless of whether the possibility of such damages was disclosed.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability for professional malpractice or negligence in the provision of clinical services, gross negligence, willful misconduct, violations of applicable privacy or confidentiality laws, or any other conduct for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms waives an established client's legally protected rights or remedies concerning professional mental health services.
The limitations in this section shall apply only to the extent enforceable under applicable law.
15. Relationship to Clinical Agreements and Practice Policies
These Terms govern general Website access and use. They are not a psychotherapy treatment agreement and do not constitute clinical informed consent.
Individuals accepted into treatment may be required to complete and sign separate documents, including informed consent, Practice Policies, telehealth consent, financial agreements, and other applicable clinical documentation.
Those documents, together with governing law and professional standards, establish the applicable rights, obligations, and expectations concerning the therapeutic relationship.
In the event of any conflict between these Terms and an applicable clinical agreement, signed Practice Policies, governing law, or professional requirement, the latter shall control with respect to the therapeutic relationship.
Nothing in these Terms modifies the responsibilities of Eckhouse Therapy or its clinicians to established clients.
16. Changes to Terms and Acceptance of Revisions
Eckhouse Therapy reserves the right, in its sole discretion and subject to applicable law, to amend, revise, replace, or update these Terms at any time.
Revised Terms will be posted on the Website with an updated effective date and will apply prospectively from that date or another effective date identified in the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
By continuing to access or use the Website after revised Terms become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms, to the extent enforceable under applicable law. If you do not agree to any revisions, you must immediately discontinue use of the Website.
Where applicable law requires additional notice or affirmative agreement for a modification to become binding, those requirements shall control.
Updates to these Website Terms do not independently amend any signed clinical agreement, informed consent, or Practice Policies governing an established therapeutic relationship.
17. Governing Law
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to general Website access or use shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
This provision does not displace mandatory laws of another applicable jurisdiction, alter professional licensing requirements, or restrict legally protected rights or remedies concerning clinical services.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any Website policies expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between the Website visitor and Eckhouse Therapy, LLC concerning access to and use of the Website.
They supersede prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, understandings, or agreements concerning general Website use, whether oral or written, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
References to the Website Privacy Policy or Notice of Privacy Practices identify the relevant privacy disclosures and requirements; they do not independently convert those notices into additional contractual warranties or guarantees. Nothing in this section negates factual privacy disclosures or limits rights, obligations, or remedies arising under applicable law.
This entire agreement provision applies exclusively to Website access and use. It does not supersede, modify, or replace clinical informed consent, signed Practice Policies, treatment agreements, financial agreements, telehealth consent documents, the Notice of Privacy Practices, or other documents governing an established therapeutic relationship.
19. Modification and Waiver
Except for Website-wide revisions made in accordance with Section 16, no individual modification, amendment, exception, or waiver of these Terms shall be effective unless expressly agreed to in writing by Dr. Chelsea Eckhouse, President of Eckhouse Therapy, LLC.
No oral statement, informal communication, course of conduct, or failure to enforce a provision shall constitute a modification or waiver of these Terms.
Any waiver granted by Eckhouse Therapy shall apply only to the specific circumstances expressly identified in the written waiver and shall not constitute a continuing waiver or a waiver of any other provision.
Nothing in this section limits modifications required by applicable law or alters the separate requirements governing amendments to clinical agreements.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, as permitted by applicable law.
The remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect to the extent they are legally enforceable and consistent with the parties' lawful intentions.
21. No Third-Party Beneficiaries
Except as expressly provided in these Terms or required by applicable law, these Terms are intended solely for the benefit of Eckhouse Therapy, LLC and persons bound by them, and do not create contractual rights in unrelated third parties.
Nothing in this section restricts rights or protections independently established by applicable law.
